Kor Hotel Group proudly announces the soft opening of the iconic Tides South Beach. As the flagship home for its new 'Tides' brand, the iconic hotel launched its partial opening in November 2007 with a sophisticated new look which is certain to redefine luxury travelers' expectations of South Beach.
Designed by Kelly WearstlerRestored to an unprecedented level of glamour by acclaimed interior designer Kelly Wearstler, the historic gem reclaims its legacy as the "Diva of Ocean Drive" with final design elements to be completed in early winter 2008.
Each of the hotel's 45 oversized, ocean-view guest suites has been re-envisioned with custom designed treasures hand picked by Wearstler. Signature penthouse suites enhance this theme with one-of-a-kind vintage elements, original artwork and antique sculptures that fill each space with additional allure. Wearstler has re-dressed its interiors in opulent layers of museum-quality artifacts. The end-result is a casual glamour underscored by a coastal-chic sensibility.
The Tides' legendary lobby embodies a new grandeur, with innovative applications of stone, gold-leaf and leather accenting a central lounge area, while the elegantly-appointed Martini Bar commands a central location, allowing guests a seamless transition between the bar and lobby lounge area.
La Marea Restaurant and TerraceAt the new, acclaimed La Marea restaurant, Executive Chef Pietro Rota (formerly of trendy Il Sole in West Hollywood) presents dishes of only the freshest seasonal ingredients on his Italian-Mediterranean seafood menu. Since its Summer 2007 launch, the venue has enjoyed great success and was hailed as a "restaurant worthy of an Deco icon," by the Miami Herald.
Outside, La Marea’s elegant front terrace now features accent pieces and custom furnishings, including Kelly Wearstler's signature "Porter Chairs," which frame the entryway into the grand lobby and provide guests with functional, yet stylish options for enjoying ocean breezes and culinary delights.
Personal Assistant ProgramThe Tides’ Personal Assistant Program offers guests advanced and intuitive service from traditional-style butlers trained by Robert Watson, founder and president of "The Guild of Professional English Butlers." Available around the clock, the hotel’s personal assistants attend to every detail, from unpacking luggage to grooming pets, or running baths. A call to a Personal Assistant summons a hamper stocked with picnic provisions, iced hand towels, sunscreen and refreshing mineral water spray for the ever-important beach visit. Coral Bar
In 2008 the exclusive Coral Bar will open, providing twilight cocktails and seasonal culinary selections in an intimate, yet social setting. Outside, the handsome pool terrace will be transformed into a lush enclosure of supreme serenity, dotted with signature cabanas. A state-of-the-art fitness center will be available in January, along with expanded meeting options, anchored by a newly-designed boardroom.
